Most of the time, we see blind people taken cared of other people especially when they are outside, in an unknown place.
This time, a video captured a truly touching moment of a dog taking care of another dog which appears to be blind. They are going down the stairs.
The dog carefully led the way of the blind dog so it can go down safely, without tumbling down. The dog who’s leading the way is a golden retriever named Ginger. The other dog is a Cavalier King Charles spaniel named Kimchi. Both showed patience and trust which is a very good foundation for a lasting relationship.
It is not the first time that their friendship was noticed. Ginger and Kimchi are most of the time, invited to the hospitals to encourage patients, company employees, and students who are stressed out with their daily activities.
“Kimchi was thin, mangy, weak, with flea-infested matted fur, and already blind. He was later adopted by a Golden Retriever mix called Ginger, who is now almost 13 years old. Since then, a very special bond has developed between the two,” says the owner of the two dogs.
According to them, Ginger and Kimchi immediately got along with each other.
“Ginger rejected all the other dogs until we came across Kimchi,” says Thea, the dog’s owner.
It was by accident that Ginger became the guide dog of Kimchi. At first, Ginger and Kimchi were leashed together so Kimchi won’t wander off. But instinctively, Ginger started to guide and lead Kimchi as the latter walks around.
