Living up to his breed – this golden retriever saved a drowning bird in a paddling pool.
A certain Mariana Corti saw the scene while looking out of the window. She saw a pigeon drowning in the water at the back of their garden in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Yago, a six-year-old golden retriever noticed the commotion and immediately rushed to the scene. He reached over the distressed bird. The bird flapped violently but the dog was determined to complete his mission.
The dog grabbed the bird gently in his mouth and pulled the bird to safety, leaving it to dry on the side of the pool. For centuries, the golden retriever is used by hunters to retrieve birds because of their intelligence.
