No pregnancy is the same. To one person, pregnancy took a toll on her yet to another one, everything went easy. We need to accept the fact that every woman could encounter different struggles as they fulfill the nine months of carrying their unborn child inside their womb.
However, there are really those cases that are considered rare and one-of-a-kind. Just like this woman who gave birth to six babies in nine minutes.
You read it right. Thelma Chiaka gave birth to nine children from 4:50 in the early morning until 4:59 a.m. at the Woman’s Hospital of Texas.
The weight of her babies (2 girls and 4 boys) ranges from 1 pound and 12 ounces to 2 pounds and 12 ounces.
According to research, the chance of giving birth to sextuplets is 1 in 4.7 billion, making Chiaka’s case a very rare one. By this, there’s even a higher chance of getting struck by lightning (1 in 9 million) or win a lotto which is 1 in 302 million.
The two female babies were named Zina and Zuriel while the other four boys are yet to be named. According to the hospital, the six babies are in good condition and currently under the neonatal intensive care unit of the hospital.
