Filipinos wanting to study in Japan might get a chance as the Japanese Embassy situated in Manila starts accepting scholarship applications.

This is the Embassy’s 2020 program that offers education assistance to incoming college students and even graduate students who are thinking of taking courses in technology, humanities and so much more.

Incoming college students ages 17 to 24 years olds can send their applications over education programs like Specialized Training College, College of Technology and Undergraduate scholarships.

Applicants need to have Nihongo background as well as good academic standing in Science, Math, and English.

Qualified applicants can take three to five years of college education in the fields of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Communication and Network Engineering, Architecture and Civil Engineering, Maritime Engineering, Technology, Personal Care and Nutrition,Culture and General Education, Social Sciences, Humanities,Education and Welfare, Business, Fashion and Home Economics,and Natural Sciences.

For graduate students, you need to have “clear and feasible research proposal” as well as good academic standing and under 35 years old. You can apply at the Embassy’s “Research Student, Master’s or Doctoral Course” category.

You can download the application forms and get other necessary information from the Embassy’s official website (JAPAN SCHOLARSHIP) or check at the JICC Library.

Hard copies printed on A4-size paper will be accepted, be it mailed or hand-delivered personally to the Embassy. The deadline for the submission of applications will be on May 31, 2019.
