Constancia Dayag should be returning to the Philippines this year from Kuwait and her family is excited to welcome her. However, days before her supposed return, the sad news reached to her family.
Dayag passed away due to the bad treatment of her employer and cucumber was also found in her privates proving that she suffered a tragic demise.
“Initial reports reaching my office indicate that Ms. Dayag was brought to Al Sabah Hospital the other night but was declared dead on arrival. Her body bore various contusions and hematoma, with a ‘cucumber’ inside her private part,” says Sec. Silvestre Bello III of the Department of Labor and Employment.
The Embassy already appointed a legal team to ensure justice to Dayag.
“Gagawin namin ang lahat ng aming makakaya upang mapabilis, mapadali ang pagpapauwi ng kanyang mgalabi,” says Vice Consul CharlesonHermosura.
The Department of Labor and Employment is considering the implementation of a deployment ban among household service workers to Kuwait.
“Ang ating posisyon right now is to wait and see,” says Hermosura.
Before the incident of Dayag, representatives from Kuwait and Philippines are already planning a meeting that will tackle the implementing guidelines of the memorandum of understanding on the employment and protection towards OFWs in this Gulf country.
