Companies in Kuwait to face closure if the salary is not given until the 8th of the month.

To address the issue of delayed salary, the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) in Kuwait sets a new regulation wherein a company that doesn’t pay by 8th of the month will be closed. This new regulation covers all companies including those in the private sector, small enterprises, governmental projects and all other activities that are covered under the labor law.

Files of companies that won’t comply with this regulation will be blocked. This means that the deadline for the transfer of salaries will be at the 7th of every month.

As for domestic workers, acting Director General of PAM Abdullah Al-Mutawtah tasked the Department of Domestic Labor Recruitment to follow-up on these workers in order to make sure that all offices abide by the laws and regulation especially when hiring domestic workers.

Meanwhile, laborers are prohibited to work in open areas starting from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm, according to the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM). This move is to ensure the laborer’s safety and employers are obliged to comply with it.

Any violations towards any of these regulations will not be tolerated. Inspection teams will also visit open areas to ensure that no laborers are working between these times of the day which is considered the hottest.
