The tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa, was lighted with the colors of the Philippine flag in commemoration to the Philippines’ 121st Independence Day on June 12.
Not just Burj Khalifa, buildings at the Dubai Festival City also displayed images of Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and the People’s Champ Manny Pacquiao all on the same day.

Thousands of Overseas Filipino Workers trooped to these areas to witness this once-in-a-lifetime event.
The crowd cheered as Burj Khalifa, composing of 163 floors, flashes colors of blue, red and white. Burj Khalifa in Dubai currently holds the record as the tallest building in the world.
“Ang saya naman nang ipinakita na ang flag ng Pilipinas. Hiyawan mga Pilipino,” one netizen commented.
Meanwhile, in Dubai Festival City, images of two well-known Filipino personalities were displayed on the façade of two buildings.
Catriona Gray is a Filipino-Australian beauty queen represented the Philippines on the Miss Universe 2018. She was crowned as the Miss Universe 2018 which happened in Bangkok, Thailand.
On the other building is a photo of Manny Pacquiao celebrating his victory from a match. Both Pacquiao and Gray have yet to issue their comment on their images being used to celebrate the Independence Day of the Philippines in Dubai.
“Proud to be a Filipino. Happy Independence Day and thank you UAE for supporting Filipinos. I love Dubai,” one netizen wrote.
