The demise of Constancia Dayag, the OFW in Kuwait, rocked the Internet and captured the attention of people from different parts of the world. However, it seems like Dayag is not the only victim of bad treatment perpetrated by their employers.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through the help of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is currently looking for the unidentified Filipina companion of Dayag who is said to be missing.

It can be recalled that Ma. ConstanciaDayag, aged 47, was rushed to Al Sabah Hospital in Kuwait with bruises all over her body and already lifeless when she arrived at the hospital.

“Meronsiyang (Dayag) kasamahan nanawawala. Suddenly she left Kuwait and went home and cannot be contacted, so this is raising eyebrows, bakit nawawala,” says Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III during the annual Independence Day job fair that happened in Manila.

According to the labor secretary, he already sent instructions to the NBI to find the companion of Dayag who is also a Filipina domestic helper.

“Meron kaming number pero hindi sinasagot, pinapahanap na namin sa NBI,” says Bello.

He also thinks that the sudden disappearance of the Filipino companion of Dayag could be to cover-up her demise.

“There might be some cover up, pero it’s not also fair for us to do that, to say it now. We have to do some homework,” Secretary Bello thinks.

Earlier, DOLE instructed NBI to conduct a second autopsy on Dayag to have “a clearer view of the circumstances surrounding her death.”
