Expatriates in Kuwait, especially those who are doing technical jobs will have to take several tests to end the visa trafficking in the Gulf State, says Minister of State for Economic Affairs Mariam Al-Aqeel.

“The manpower authority has set very strict measures including banning the change of a worker’s profession or educational level except through certain measures,” says Aqeel.

She further added that those expats changing professions and becoming educators for people with special needs will have to take specific tests, something that will soon be applied to other professions.

Aqeel stated that there are currently 20 technical jobs and crafts that need special tests. Expats will have to acquire a degree and specialty, years of experience, passing the set of tests and acquiring experience certificates.
