An Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in Kuwait is in desperate need of help following an incident impairing her mobility.

Anne Apostol posted on social media regarding an OFW who jumped from the window of her employer’s house because they kept detained and took her mobile phone, leaving her without a choice but to look for a way to survive.
The OFW was identified as Merlie Libumfacil from Dipolog City, Philippines. Her agency is Mother’s Way Overseas Manpower Specialist Corp.
She decided to jump from the window but instead of escaping, she broke both her legs. The OFW is currently in a hospital in Kuwait but no one takes care of her.
She is given very little pain reliever and endures all the pain from her injury because no one was to keep an eye on her.

Apostol said that she only knew the OFW through a friend and hoped that through sharing the Facebook post, the woman can receive the much-needed help as soon as possible.
The reason behind her detainment inside her employer’s home remains unknown. Moreover, the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait has yet to issue their statement regarding the incident which could be a breach of the signed memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
