A road incident claimed the lives of two women including a Filipina nurse in New Jersey last Monday, July 8.

The victims were identified as Diana Pelayo, 33, from Bergenfield and another 63-year old woman Huishan Li from Palisades Park got involved in a road incident at Hackensack Avenue and Terhune Place. Other two people are being treated for their minor injuries.

Pelayo, a registered nurse in Regent Care Center, and her husband immigrated to New Jersey from the Philippines last June 5, 2018, as they were planning to start a new life in the foreign country.

According to the eyewitnesses at the scene, they were able to hear a loud boom as both cars crashed and their airbags got deployed. The incident is still being investigated as of the moment.
