According to GMA News, the driver was identified as Eugene Del Rosario, he charged huge taxi fare to a Chinese national as well as his companions just with the short distance (From Terminal 3 to Terminal 1).

The totally high fare was accepted by the tourists because they are in a hurry but Eugene didn’t escape after doing such activities because his passengers reported him to the airport authorities.

Del Rosario was caught in Terminal 3 while he was waiting for more passengers.

Upon investigation, it was found out that Eugene was not licensed to operate as a taxi driver because his license was already confiscation following a parking violation.

A lot of taxi drivers in NAIA are victimizing foreigners thinking that they don’t know the fare system in the Philippines, there are even others who victimize fellow Filipinos who just returned to the country thinking that they have bundles of money when actually, they don’t have. In the end, when caught, these taxi drivers are taken by the police and prevented entry into the airport premises.
