Social media is really helpful especially for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) to communicate with their loved ones in the Philippines.

However, just like any other things, too much use of social media can also be harmful. For domestic helpers particularly in Middle East countries, it is particularly important to screen your Facebook posts as this could lead you to great trouble. Instead of help, there’s a higher possibility of landing in jail if you are careless with your posts.

A certain OFW, who failed to mention her name, is worried after her employer found out about her posts on Facebook. She did not mention her posts on social media but based on the actions of her employer, it could be something about them.

As she cries in the video, the Filipina can be heard saying that her employer wants all her Facebook posts to be deleted. They also want to confiscate her phone, something that she refused to do.

According to her, she hid in the room and locked it up to prevent her employer from getting her phone. She didn’t mention any sort of physical damage perpetuated by her employer aside from the fact that they want her phone.

The woman also failed to mention her location and her agency and just kept on crying, afraid that her employer will harm her.
