What should you do to avoid such incidents?

  • Take to your child before going to the mall. Make a rule that they should always be visible to you and vice versa. Keep reminding them especially when they start to feel restless.
  • Teach your children to approach a ‘safe stranger’ in case they get separated from you. These ‘safe stranger’ includes a security guard, a person at the cashier or a mother with kids.
  • Tell your children to never leave the mall no matter what happens or who tells them.
