Three alleged illegal recruiters were intercepted by the National Bureau of Investigation in Central Visayas which involves economic sabotage.
The three suspects who were also siblings were identified as Rea Parejas Casas, 32; MaricrisRia Delgado, 25 and Kevin Parejas, 23, all hailing from Antipolo City. They were arrested by the NBI-7 at the Mactan Cebu International Airport.
The said arrested was made following the offloading of seven passengers believed to be victims of the three illegal traffickers. After their arrest, they are turned over to the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking-Mactan Cebu International Airport (IACAT-MCIA) while the investigation is taken cared for by the Bureau of Immigration at Mactan-Cebu International Airport.
Authorities confirmed that four of the seven offloaded passengers were indeed victims of human trafficking. Upon investigation led by NBI-7 Director Tomas Enrile, victims identified the Casas and Delgado siblings as the one behind their recruitment.
According to the victims, they are supposed to fly to Dubai via Taiwan for a job there. According to the Philippine Overseas Employment Agency (POEA), the three persons who were arrested are not authorized to send Filipinos abroad for any jobs.
Illegal recruiters are one of the reasons for the growing number of Filipinos being treated badly by their employers. Worst, these victims were left without a choice but to stay with their bad-treating employers as they have no agency to run to.
