A Filipino in Dubai was fined after doing this ‘common’ act.

To countries like the Philippines, it would be totally common to see people taking a nap at a metro after a hectic day. This is not alarming but not in Dubai.

A Filipino recently shared his experience as a reminder to all OFWs to avoid such activities inside Dubai Metro or other parts of the Emirates.

The Filipino who works in UAE for 8 years took a nap unknowingly at the Dubai Metro because he got exhausted from work.

“Naka-idlip ako dahil sobrang pagod sa trabaho. First time pong nangyari sa akin to,” says Jair Ugto, who works as a freelance stylist in UAE.

According to him, an inspector saw him through CCTV and immediately came to his approach while riding Dubai Metro’s Gold Class cabin. The office said that he will be paying Dh300 (P4,200) as fine for snoozing.

Ugto had to pay huge fines just for the nap. However, she couldn’t argue with it because of it the rules of the metro. It is important to take it seriously or risk taking the consequences.

Ugto reminds fellow OFWs to obey the rules and regulations of the Dubai Metro to avoid unnecessary fees.

“Wag matulog habang nasa metro dahil online sila sa CCTV,” says Ugto.
