The remains of the Overseas Filipino Worker from Abu Dhabi who died under uncertain circumstances was finally brought back to the Philippines.

The family of Mary Jean Alberto was emotional as they saw the OFW already inside the coffin. It can be recalled that the employer of Mary Jean claimed that the Filipina took her own life by jumping off a building in Abu Dhabi.

However, the OFW’s family in the Philippines is doubtful of the claims of her employer especially because Mary Jean previously complained against the bad treatment of her employers.

The family of Mary Jean is currently appealing for help from the government so as to pinpoint the real cause of her demise.

“Anghuliniyangtawagsa akin, nanay happy birthday nalangbakahindinatayo mag-usapdahilayawakopalabasin ng amoko. Binabantaanniyaako. Kapagnagpumilitdawakolumabas, papatayinako,” says FlordelisaBalag-ey, mother of Mary Jean.

Mary Jean Alberto is a member of an indigenous tribe situated in Cordillera, Philippines. On Oct. 2, her passing was reported after she allegedly jumped off a building in the United Arab Emirates.

“Less than 24 hours before her untimely demise, Alberto… sent messages to her older sister, also an OFW (overseas Filipino worker) in Abu Dhabi, requesting an immediate rescue,” says members of an indigenous women’s organization.

Mary Jean jumped off from the 13th floor of a building where her employer resides.
