Being positive in life must be the primary characteristic of an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW). Seeing the good from the bad is also a good trait.

OFWs might portray smiles over their faces but there’s sadness from within. Being away from their family, especially their children, carves a different kind of a pain in their hearts.

In a video that reflects the real experiences of OFWs the first time they see their family after a long time, an OFW is greeted with her family and two children.

She was away from them for four years which is quite a long time. This is not a story single OFW. This mirrors the experiences of most OFWs.

The post instantly became viral as most OFW netizens can relate to it. The caption of the post says that says, “It is not easy to go work abroad just for the sake of providing the needs of the family and for their brighter future. They are getting along with other nationalities and working as domestic helpers. They endure all the hardships just to have something to send to their family in the Philippines,” is the story of almost all OFWs, especially domestic helpers who tirelessly care for other people while enduring the thought of leaving their own family just to provide for them financially.

Overseas Filipino Workers are indeed our modern-day heroes.
