A caretaker was arrested in Angeles City, Pampanga after he tries to sell the house and lot of an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW).
According to OFW Marita Esseler, she is supposed to return to the Philippines in January but her vacation came earlier because of news saying that the house she bought just last year is being sold by her caretaker.
“Ang dami ko na napadalang pera medyo ninenerbiyos na’ko. Later on, sabiko, ‘Bakit parang kulang na ang pinapadalaniya sa’king mga resibo, hingina ng hingi ng hingi ng pera,” says Esseler on an interview at ABS-CBN News.
Through the help of the police, the planned selling of the house worth P5 million was put to stop.
“Noongnataposnayung transaction nila dun saloob, ‘yunpumasokna kami. ‘Dun nanaminnakita ‘yungmgapekeng documents, at the same time, ‘yung marked money natin,” says Police Capt. Leopoldo Cajipe, director of CIDG-Angeles City.
They were able to get fake land titles and special power of attorney affixed with the fabricated signature of the house owner. It was also found out that even the car owned by the OFW was pawned by the suspect.
The police suspect that the caretaker is addicted to gambling because of the bingo cards which was found on his possession.
Authorities are reminding the public not to trust easily especially in getting a caretaker or house help. The suspect will be facing a case of Falsification of Public Document and a violation of the RA 9105 or Art of Forgery Act of 2001.
