Aside from JeanelynVillavende who lost her life in the hands of her employer, another Filipino from Kuwait is set to return home already inside the coffin.
According to GMA News, Vice Consul Adrian Audrey Baccay confirmed that OFW Maryjoy Tajo passed away a day before New Year after a road accident involving an Egyptian national.
It is said that Tajo was run over by a motorcycle driven by the Egyptian. Tajo was immediately taken to the hospital but didn’t make it. The Egyptian were also taken to the hospital following the incident.
“Magbibigay po tayo ng lawyer. Wala pong ibabayad po nani-singko po ang pamilya po ni Maryjoy para po masiguro po namakakamit po ni Mary Joy ang hustisyang kanilang hinahanap,” says Vice Consul Baccay.
Officials said that the remains of Tajo will be repatriated back to the Philippines this week.
Meanwhile, tears pour down as the remains of JeanelynVillavende arrived in Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). Her family was there to take Villavende into her province in General Santos.
Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Hans Cacdac made sure that the family of Villavende will receive financial assistance from the agency.
The justice department is also willing to lend legal support to the bereaved family so they can attain justice for the Filipina.
Currently, the partial deployment ban in Kuwait is still effective.
