In times of troubles and calamities, Filipinos will be always there for their fellow countrymen. This is one of the most remarkable traits of Filipinos. No matter how hard the situation gets, it will be a lot easier if you are not alone.

In a Facebook post of Baling Jacinto Paulino, the said trait of Filipinos is greatly showcased.

According to Paulino, they had a stop-over in Bahrain going home to the Philippines and met three Filipino men from Saudi Arabia who were in a pitiful situation. They were identified as Ramil B. Rufila, JefferylGamponia, and Ervin Fernandez.

Still wearing their prison clothes, the three Filipino men were waiting for their flight back to the Philippines. According to Paulino, the three men were set up in a crime they didn’t commit. Because of this, they landed in a jail facility in Saudi. After spending one year and three weeks inside the jail, the three of them were released.

Because of their situation, they will be returning home penniless.

But the OFWs that they met at the airport couldn’t allow such things to happen. According to Paulino, the OFWs in the airport gathered to donate some money to the three Filipino men. They were able to collect PhP30,000 while inside the airport in Bahrain and another PhP30,000 while they were inside the airplane going back to the Philippines.

In total, they were able to collect PhP60,000 and some chocolates for the three men who were very happy upon receiving the money.

Paulino hopes that more help will come their way as they arrive in the Philippines.
