Different countries from all over the world are formulating a coronavirus vaccine that will stop the spread of COVID-19. This time, the Russian defense military was able to develop a vaccine that they tagged as “safe” after conducting clinical trials into a group of volunteers.
According to the Russian defense ministry, 19 people were able to participate in the said research. All of them were discharged without experiencing “serious adverse events, health complaints, complications, or side effects.”
In a statement, they confirmed that the clinical trials “allow us to speak with confidence about the safety and good tolerability of the vaccine.”
Furthermore, the defense ministry failed to confirm the effectiveness of the vaccine but one doctor confirmed that the volunteers are “now protected against the coronavirus.”
“Their immunity is working well, antibodies are being created, they are protected against the coronavirus,” says Svetlana Volchikhina, a researcher.
According to reports, the volunteers in the clinical trial were isolated in a military hospital in Moscow. Daily check-ups were conducted on them after the vaccine was administered. After 28 days following the vaccination, it is said that the vital signs of the volunteers appeared to be in normal limits.
“We now know that we are 100 percent protected,” says one of the clinical trial participants.
