There are a couple of OFWs who confessed to having a bad experience upon arriving in the Philippines from the country where they previously worked. However, they are outnumbered by the OFWs who were happy and satisfied with their experiences. Just like this OFW who shared his experience in a lengthy Facebook post.

OFW Romulo Paras II started by saying that his post is not a FAKE NEWS!

“I just want to share my 5 STAR SERVICE experienced mula sa OWWA, CRK AIRPORT at ng LOCAL GOVT UNIT ng City of San Fernando Pampanga, na aking nasaksihan sa pag-uwi from Dubai last July 22, 2020.”

According to Paras, there is no need to fill out any forms online as this necessary documentation can be filled out while you are on board an aircraft.

“From my flight Emirates EK2572 nakalapag ako ng CRK around 3pm ng hapon ng July 22,” says Paras. “Nag pahuli ako lumabas ng eroplano dahil madami akong hand carry, as the airport staff are very strict sa social distancing nag-stay muna ng airplane hanggang kaunti na lang ang pila.”

He was then greeted by a happy Filipina who welcomed him back to the Philippines. A guy then instructed the OFW to his seat then handed over a bottled water. He was also informed that the swabbing test and hotel accommodation are all free, no matter if you are an active OWWA member or not.

He was then assisted to a bus which will take them to their hotel accommodation. While on the way, they were given a 1-pc chickenjoy from Jollibee and bottled water.

Paras and other OFWs were taken to Woodland Hotel Resort where they can stay while waiting for their test results.

May toiletries din alloted for 3days. Bibigyan ka din 1 pack of sky flakes at 3 sachet of KOPIKO at 3 NISSIN CUP noodles,” Paras relates.

On the 4th day of his stay in the hotel, he received a negative test result which is an indication that he can return home and have a 14-day home quarantine.

Paras thought that returning home amidst the pandemic will be a hassle. But this is not true.

“Mabait si Lord! May pag-asa ang Pilipinas! May pagbabago sa Gobyerno! Wag puro nega!

He also expressed his heartfelt thanks to all the people and frontliners from the Clark Airport, OWWA staff as well as the driver who took him to San Fernando City.
