The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is giving free skills training to those Overseas Filipino Workers who lost their jobs amidst the pandemic.
According to TESDA Secretary Isidro Lapena, the agency is dedicated to helping Filipino workers recover from the effects of the pandemic by giving them virtual training on courses like Contact Center Services NC II. This will be done at the TESDA-Quezon City District Office.
“Included in our ‘Oplan TESDA Abot Lahat: TVET towards the New Normal’ is to integrate and mainstream our returning OFWs here in the country through reskilling or upskilling,” says Lapena during a Zoom Meeting.
With this course, learners are being taught how they should properly interact with their customers when providing information for the product and services that their company offers.
The Contact Center Services NC II also covers the handling of the complaints of the customers, order taking, inbound customer service, outbound telemarketing, and inquiry response handling.
The TESDA-CAMANAVA District Office, meanwhile, instigated a program that prioritizes OFW applicants. This is the Contract Tracing Level II Training Program.
The government is expected to hire 80,000 contract tracers to enhance the country’s fight against the spread of COVID-19. OFWs who lost their jobs will be the priority of this program.
