The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) is asking for patience and understanding from the returning OFWs from October 15 onwards.
This is in line with their RT-PCR test results which have been delayed. Amidst the rift between the Philippine Red Cross and the Philhealth, wherein the latter failed to pay its due, the OFWs were the ones greatly affected by the delay.
According to OWWA Administrator Hans Leo Cacdac, the IATF national task force already asked the help of other government laboratories to process the specimen of returning OFWs who were able to undergo the testing in NAIA.
Cacdac further thanked the local and national laboratories for providing the much-needed help in processing the PCR swab specimen of those returning OFWs.
Meanwhile, OWWA advised those returning OFWs to register at the quarantinecertificate.com to know the results of their swab tests.
It can be recalled that the Philippine Red Cross stopped processing the COVID-19 tests after Philhealth failed to pay their dues which has already amounted to more than one billion. But they also ensured that upon payment of the dues, they can once again resume their operations as they will now have enough funds to operate once again.
As the Red Cross stopped their operations, the ones greatly affected were the returning OFWs as delays became inevitable.
