A 27-year-old Filipina domestic helper took her own life in Kuwait by hanging through the use of clothes.

According to reports, the Filipina hanged herself inside her Kuwaiti employer’s house. The police were notified of the incident and they went to the area to check.

They saw the Filipina inside the toilet of her employer’s house already lifeless. Investigation says that the OFW didn’t have any problems with her family in the Philippines before her passing and haven’t requested vacation so she can return to the Philippines.

The incident was recorded by police officers as suicide. The population of Filipinos in Kuwait reaches 250,000, most of them are working as domestic workers.

Since working away from the family can bring too much sadness, it won’t hurt to check on your loved ones abroad once in a while. Aside from problems with employers, the most common issues encountered by OFWs are the problems that they had to deal with their families back home, be it financially or emotionally.

So to avoid these cases from happening again, send them a simple message, ask if they are doing fine, or just tell them that they are always remembered. It surely matters so much.
